hello

I’m Lynne, a child and family psychologist based in Launceston, Tasmania.

For over 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with children, parents, and families across a range of roles, including as a mediator, child consultant, research assistant, and therapist. My experience spans government agencies, non-government organisations, and private practice, all of which have shaped my deeply relational, compassionate approach to therapy. At the core of my work is a belief that secure, trusting relationships are the foundation of emotional wellbeing, not just for children, but for all of us.

what guides my work

I’m drawn to working with children and families because of the honesty, complexity and hope that they bring into the room. I’ve seen time and again how healing happens when people feel heard, seen, and safe, and how much that can shift a child’s world.

My work is guided by:

  • A deep respect for the emotional lives of children

  • A commitment to strengthening family connections

  • A belief in the importance of playful, creative expression, especially when words aren’t enough

You’ll find more about what I offer and how I work over on the Services page.

the space i've created

My practice is based in a calm, welcoming space in the Crabtree Chambers on York Street. It includes a purpose-designed play therapy room for younger clients, and a comfortable consulting room for adolescents and adults.

I want every person who walks through the door, whether they're four or forty , to feel they’ve entered a space where they matter.

a bit more about me
...and my dogs

Outside the therapy room, life is full of the things that bring me joy, including time with family and friends, beach days, bushwalks, and my beloved dogs.

You might have spotted Pepper in my photos. She’s 7, sweet-natured, and definitely the boss of the house. She’s also known to Zoom-bomb when I’m working from home, especially if she thinks she’s missing out on a cuddle.

Joining her later was Rorschach (aka Sharkie) , who is now 4, with the waggiest tail in the world and the energy of a cuddly wombat. They both bring a lot of play, perspective, and unconditional love to my days.
